|Sandman Needs YOUR Help!|
And what perfect timing because our beautiful, little Sandman will be having major surgery tomorrow(Saturday). As I had mentioned in my President's Letter last month, we noticed Sandman limping after he arrived to OBG in February. Our specialists identified a tumor on his right paw and he had surgery to remove it. Unfortunately, they were unable to obtain "clean margins" of the squamous cell carcinoma (aka cancer) and the cancer is spreading into the bone and possibly the bone next to it. The recommended treatment to ensure all the cancer is removed is amputation of his front leg, removal of lymph node, possible chemotherapy and then physical therapy. Sandman is thought to be only 7 years old, so this is the best option to give him a long, healthy life. The surgery and post-op care will be costly -- about $3,000 and maybe more!
Please consider making a donation to help pay for Sandman's surgery and remember your donation will be matched dollar for dollar up to $4,000. With just a click to our online donation form, you can help Sandman and other dogs waiting to come to OBG and start new lives.
Please keep Sandman in your thoughts tomorrow. We will keep you posted on how he is doing. Thank you for all you do to help OBG's dogs!
