OBG's Twelve Saves of Christmas!

The traditional carol says that on the First Day of Christmas your true love will give you a bird sitting in a fruit tree. Nice, we suppose; but in our version we give you our first save of Christmas--Sawyer!

Sawyer is a classic handsome buff cocker, estimated to be about ten years old. He is a Southern gentle- man, rescued off the streets of Greenville, South Carolina, with a fractured pelvis and dislocated hip. He was probably hit by a car. He was in a great deal of pain, and the local shelter could provide only minimal care.

We had only hours to decide whether to accept Sawyer into OBG, or else he was going to be put to sleep. Sawyer's surgery cost thousands of dollars, but for OBG it was an easy decision: Sawyer is our First Save of Christmas! He is still in the South, recuperating from the operation that will allow him once again to romp and play. As soon as he is able to travel, he will be coming to one of our intake vets, where he will receive all the care he needs. While we don't know much about Sawyer or his past, we do know that his future looks bright!

'Tis the season of warmth, kindness, and giving, and we are so thankful for the generosity of all our supporters. Each of our Twelve Saves of Christmas is counting on us to turn their lives around!!
