How does your dog stay in shape during the hot summer months?
OBG alum, Titania, has started pawlates according to her Mom. She found this canine gym set at cleanrun.com and has Titania working on her core muscles. Great training for her agility work. Earlier this month, Titania got her first CL3-H agility title and is now also a Level 5 Jumper! Woohoo, Titania!
Canine gym work seems to be the latest trend in the billion dollar dog industry! In July, Frolick's Dogs, a canine sports gym, opened in Alexandria, Virginia. According to their website, "Frolick Dogs provides an indoor space where you can bring your dogs year-round to stay fit, strengthen your bond, reinforce good behavior, and have fun! Expert guidance helps you exercise your dog based on breed, age or ability with access to canine gym equipment and an agility course." Read more about them in this Washington Post article. Our friends at the Olde Towne Pet Resort (both locations) also have a great list of "Fun and Fitness" activities for your pups including pawlates and swimming (at their Sterling location)! Click here for their info!
What's next? Maybe a combined human and dog gym where we can exercise together with our pups! But will there be cookies for both of us?!
