Sweet 16: Bootsie and Reba Go to Foster Homes This Weekend

Bootsie
Beautiful boy, Bootsie, joined his foster family in Virginia this weekend and is doing great.  His foster Dad told us he loves the family cats and his tail just keeps wagging.  He also is showing he might know house manners! He is settling in nicely with his foster canine sibling, Finn.

Bootsie
Here is Bootsie already lounging on the family couch with a stuffed toy. His foster parents are trying a product called Comfort Zone® with D.A.P.® (Dog Appeasing Pheromone) to help calm his fears. The product mimics the “appeasing” pheromones secreted by nursing mother dogs, sending a signal of comfort and safety to her puppies. According to the product website, "The Comfort Zone® with D.A.P.® Diffuser can reduce fear and stress-related barking, whining and howling behavior, up to 65% according to clinical studies." We will keep you posted on how well it works!

Reba
Our honorary cocker, Reba, also went to a foster home this weekend! This beautiful girl is 4-5 years old and a Lab mix. She is in good health and just working on a skin problem. She is super sweet and was a vet favorite. We will keep you posted on her progress!

The medical and kennel care for Bootsie, Reba and their BFFs is expected to exceed $16,000. Would you please consider a donation to help these pups get started with their new lives? Click here to make an online donation! Click here to donate by mail.

OBG is also in urgent need of foster homes to help these dogs start their new lives and find forever families! The dogs have varying needs as far as socialization and housetraining are concerned and potential fosters and adopters will find that some of the dogs are more socialized and more comfortable with people than others. If you are interested in fostering Scamper or any of the other Sweet 16 please contact fosters@cockerspanielrescue.com.
