OBG's Ninth Save of Christmas!

Our Ninth Save of Christmas is Nora, a sweet seven-year-old for whom OBG has been the turning point. OBG rescued her from a North Carolina shelter. We don't know why she wound up at the shelter; she is such a sweetie -- just wants to be hugged and petted.

Since her arrival this month, Nora has been under the care of some very special doctors. Besides being treated by our vets in Northern Virginia, she has had consults with an oncologist, a hematologist, and a pathologist. She has a cherry eye, dental issues requiring extractions, a lipoma, mammary growths, an upper respiratory infection, and ear infections. But these things are ALL treatable.

There was also an initial concern that she might have leukemia. BUT on December 19, we got great news that she does not have leukemia! What a wonderful Christmas present!! She must still have surgeries and undergo some medication regimens to address her other conditions, but once she gets through al those treatments she can focus on a new future with a forever family!  Even though Christmas is only a few days away, she is still hoping Santa will help make her wish for a new family come true in the new year.

Watch our website for updates on when Nora will be available for foster and adoption.
