Bellis' Happy Tail

We were thrilled to receive Bellis' happy tail and see in her incredible transformation in only five months. She looks wonderful! A big thanks to her parents for the all the hard work with her.  Here is her Mom's note:

I wanted to share our “Happy Tail” with Oldies But Goodies!

My husband and I adopted Bella (now called Bellis) the last week of May this year. She was our foster dog for only 2 weeks before we made the decision to make her a permanent part of our family.

As with every Cocker Spaniel, Bellis loves food! She weighed in at a hefty 40 pounds when she was surrendered to OBG by an elderly owner who could no longer care for her. It was very obvious that she had been “loved with food” and not exercised much for quite some time. She had difficulty going up stairs, walking very far and jumping into the car. But she was lovely! Her little tail was constantly wiggling, and she never met anyone she didn’t love. She fit right into our family and our hearts.

It’s been a little over 7 months since we got Bellis and boy is she looking svelt! She is down to a slim 28.5 pounds and is the bane of all squirrels and rabbits in our neighborhood! She still loves to eat – but she gets a low-cal diet of premium kibble now and takes long walks twice a day with her fur-brother, Teako. I’ve attached a few before & after photos for you to see her transformation.

We are so very lucky to have this beautiful girl in our lives!

Thank you OBG for all you do.

Best Regards,
Merril & Dan Levesque
