Our first OBG cocker, Corky, passed away in 2009, and we waited for 6 months before starting the search for a new friend. We contacted OBG's foster coordinator who helped match us with some possibilities. After meeting several dogs, we decided on Kai.
A little nervous...
Kai was an owner turn-in who seemed OK at our first meeting but was sort of aloof. In hindsight, I think he was just wondering what was going on in his little life (he was 5).
We had decided on an older dog from our experience with Corky and how mellow he was as he aged. Little did we know that we had just adopted a gem. From day one, he fit right in, like he knew he was home. No accidents, no chewing, a few Houdini incidents with a baby gate (we still can't figure out how he cleared it, and eventually just took the thing down)—he has been nothing but a sweet, well behaved buddy. Plus, he is much more demonstrative than Corky, much to my daughter's delight. Cocker kisses rock!
Enjoying a lot of love!
So thank you once again, OBG, for a successful love match. We continue to enjoy Kai one year later. You probably hear this all the time, but he is the sweetest dog in the world. He really is a champion snuggler and likes nothing better than to squeeze between two people on a sofa and cuddle. He also likes to go anywhere in the car and rides really well. We are so glad we adopted him!
It's been a hot summer. Could I please have a little treat?
It sure looks yummy!
Congratulations to Kai & his family. To many happy summers together!
